Guayaquil is known as the PEARL OF THE PACIFIC, it is the principal port of the country, a cosmopolitan city with a lively economic and tourist activity.
We have to thanks to the huge work done by the City Council  for increasing the urbanity development. Hotel Del Rey, is the only hotel near the Malecon del Salado, just 1 block away, really close to the main avenue of the city… 9 de octubre ave.

MALECON DEL SALADO
Thanks to the new face of the avenue (9 de octubre), the Malecon del Salado together with the Malecon 2000 create a touristic hall wich becomes a mandatory visit for everyone who comes to the city
The creation of The Malecon del Salado together with other great projects were in charge of the municipality of the city. The proposal of these projects is to recover the image of the city. Both levees (malecon del salado, malecon 2000) have restore the river in which seashores people used to bath a long time ago
In this part of the city you could enjoy the view of the 9 de octubre avenue, food courts, parks, all of that with the company of the salty tideland. The first section consists of 2 blocks join together by a bridge. This two blocks have a unique deck where you can admire the salty tideland and the activities that take place there. Here you can find food courts and many restaurants with a variety of menus, a water mirror that borders both blocks, 66 parking spaces and restrooms.
The park of the cuidadela ferroviaria has games for kids, green areas, bridges, street furniture and fixtures, and small wood cabins where you can buy express food. You can easily walk from side to side.
PLAZA RODOLFO BAQUERIZO MORENO
It was known as the Guayaquil park, it has been restored, in that way the central part of this plaza is a huge saloon, the nucleus where all kind of expositions take place giving the zone more usefulness.
this plaza counts with a parking area for 150 vehicles and a side walk shaped as a ring, that allows to walk around the plaza. Besides, this zone has created a “gather center” where all the wastes are recycled. There, students can learn how the process of recycling goes.
When you visit the Malecon del Salado you will also be able to see the Assad Bucaram monument and the Obelisk which is now perimeter by a creek wich joins to the one in the north block.
